The Kalash or the Kalasha are the only pagan minority residing in the Chitral district of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhua. They form the smallest minority community in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Though the people of Kalash were once in a large number, around 200,000, the number has dwindled so much so that only a handful of Kalashas remain— about 3000 to 4000. The striking decrease in the population of Kalashas pertains to the forceful conversion of these pagans to Islam. Even in the current day scenario, smallest pagan minority is hardly given any rights and is not recognized as a separate entity. Only a handful of foreign NGOs are working towards the development and progress of this area and tribe.
The Kalashas live in three valleys of Chitral namely, Rumbur, Brumbret and Birir. The Rumbur and Brumbret form a single culture due to their very similar cultural practices, while Birir being the most traditional one forms a separate culture. The Kalasha Valleys are valleys in Chitral District in northern Pakistan. The valleys are surrounded by the Hindu Kush mountain range. The inhabitants of the valley are the Kalash people, who have a unique culture, language and follow a form of ancient Hinduism. There are three main valleys. The largest and most populous valley is Bumburet (Mumuret), has to be reached by a road from Ayun in the Kunar Valley. Rumbur is a side valley north of Bumburet. The third valley, Biriu (Birir), is a side valley of the Kunar Valley lying south of Bumburet.
For the above-mentioned reasons, the Kalasha Valleys are a source of attraction for Pakistani as well as for International tourists.
Kalash people are considered unique in Pakistan for their ethnicity as well culture. Where as some believe them to be the descendants of Alexander the Great’s army when they settled about 2300 years ago.
Kalash Valley is great tourist spots for family with lots good hotels and fun activities to do. From sightseeing to shopping, from indoor activities to outdoor activities from rides to restaurants. Kalash Valley has many spots to visit including museum, hilly tops and national park.

کالاش یا کالاشہ صوبہ خیبر پختونخواہ کے ضلع چترال میں رہنے والی واحد کافر اقلیت ہے۔ وہ اسلامی جمہوریہ پاکستان میں سب سے چھوٹی اقلیتی برادری کی تشکیل کرتے ہیں۔ اگرچہ کالاش کے لوگ ایک زمانے میں بڑی تعداد میں تھے، تقریباً 200,000، یہ تعداد اتنی کم ہو گئی ہے کہ صرف چند کالاشی باقی رہ گئے ہیں۔ یہاں تک کہ موجودہ دور کے منظر نامے میں، سب سے چھوٹی کافر اقلیت کو شاید ہی کوئی حقوق دیے گئے ہوں صرف چندغیر ملکی این جی اوز اس علاقے اور قبیلے کی ترقی کے لیے کام کر رہی ہیں۔
رمبر، برمبریٹ کالاش چترال کی تین وادیوں میں رہتے ہیں، یعنی رمبر، برمبریٹ اور بیریر۔ اپنے بہت ہی ملتے جلتے ثقافتی طریقوں کی وجہ سے ایک سب سے زیادہ روایتی ہونے کی وجہ سے ایک الگ ثقافت کی تشکیل کرتی ہے۔ کالاش وادیاں شمالی پاکستان کے ضلع چترال کی وادیاں ہیں۔ وادیاں ہندوکش پہاڑی سلسلے سے گھری ہوئی ہیں۔ وادی کے باشندے کالاش لوگ ہیں، جن کی ایک منفرد ثقافت، زبان ہے اور وہ قدیم ہندو مذہب کی ایک شکل کی پیروی کرتے ہیں۔ تین اہم وادیاں ہیں۔ سب سے بڑی اور سب سے زیادہ آبادی والی وادی بمبوریت (مموریت) ہے ۔ رمبور بمبورٹ کے شمال میں ایک وادی ہے۔ تیسری وادی، بیریو (بیریر)، کنڑ وادی کی کی وادی ہے جو بمبوریت کے جنوب میں واقع ہے۔
مندرجہ بالا وجوہات کی بنا پر، کالاش کی وادیاں پاکستانیوں کے ساتھ ساتھ بین الاقوامی سیاحوں کے لیے بھی کشش کا باعث ہیں۔
کالاش لوگوں کو پاکستان میں اپنی نسل کے ساتھ ساتھ ثقافت کی وجہ سے بھی منفرد سمجھا جاتا ہے۔ جہاں کچھ لوگوں کا خیال ہے کہ وہ سکندر اعظم کی فوج کی اولاد ہیں جب وہ 2300 سال پہلے آباد ہوئے تھے۔ کالاش وادی خاندان کے لیے بہترین سیاحتی مقامات ہیں جہاں بہت سارے اچھے ہوٹل اور تفریحی سرگرمیاں ہیں۔ سیر و تفریح سے لے کر خریداری تک، انڈور سرگرمیوں سے لے کر آؤٹ ڈور سرگرمیوں تک سواریوں سے لے کر ریستوراں تک سب میسر ہے ۔کالاش ویلی میں دیکھنے کے لیے بہت سے مقامات ہیں جن میں میوزیم، پہاڑی چوٹیوں اور نیشنل پارک شامل ہیں۔
